Multiple Central Air Options

At Tradewinds Eco-Energy Solutions, we handle several styles and brands of central air systems. A central heating and cooling system produces warm or cool air in one central area and then distributes it throughout the home. There are many types of systems that work as central systems.

Products typically used in central heating and cooling systems include:

  • Fan Coils

  • Evaporator Coils

  • Controls and Thermostats

  • Heat Pumps

  • Air Conditioners

  • Gas and Oil Furnaces

A Central System keeps your home warm, cool and comfortable. Most central heating and cooling systems are classified as forced air systems, because they send air through ductwork for distribution. The ductwork can contain products that filter or clean the unit.

A typical heat pump installation consists of two parts: an indoor unit and an outdoor unit. The indoor unit is called an air handler and looks similar to a gas furnace. The outdoor unit looks exactly like a central air conditioner in both size and appearance and contains the compressor.

Regardless of whether the heat pump is heating or cooling, the compressor is considered the “heart of the system” because it is the pump that circulates the refrigerant through the loop.

Because of its importance, we recommend that you look closely at the compressor’s reputation and warranty when selecting a heat pump.
